Yolanda Yang ’18 is a clinical psychology MA student at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. As a graduate research assistant in the Mental Health Services and Policy Program, she is currently developing a digital parenting program to teach parents emotion regulation skills in response to the unprecedented stress brought by COVID-19. She is interested in understanding how parenting behaviors could impact children’s development and psychopathology, and translating the evidence-based research into accessible, culturally-informed mental health services for underserved families. In the future, she hopes to pursue a doctoral degree in clinical psychology to further study how to bridge the gap between research and practices in the real world, such as via technology (i.e. digital interventions), implementation sciences and policy developments.
